1. Clarification provided by WorldNetDaily in article: “Has newspaper really solved the eligibility question?”. Followup interview with Barbara Nelson states that she did not tell the Buffalo News that Dr. West delivered Obama: “However, Nelson told WND today, “I don’t know in what capacity [West] knew about this particular birth.”

2. A 2008 memorial to Dr. West at the Mamiya Heritage Medical Center web site (currently only available in cached version through MSN) states that he was chief of staff at the Kapiolani Maternity Hospital starting in 1953, later at the Straub Clinic in 1967. This report also confirms that Dr. West was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club mentioned in the newspaper story.
I’m still researching precisely in what capacity, if any, Dr. West was at Kapi’Olani in 1961.
