Mike Pence has launched what will surely be a quixotic campaign to strip Planned Parenthood of its funding.
Pence announced today, on the anniversary of Roe v Wade, that he will press Congress to act against the big-box abortion provider by stopping the millions of dollars it receives each year from the federal government.
After HR 614s introduction yesterday, it has already gained 61 co-sponsors:

Fantastic news. If PP looses it’s funding we’re one step closer to stopping their insanity.
Did he also do this as part of the leadership when the GOP was in control?
Yes. The odds are difficult now, but this really must be done. People have to be educated. Why on EARTH are we paying huge tax subsidies to child perverters and abortion profiteers?
I appreciate it too - taxpayer funding is not only heinous, it’s corporate welfare. And, sadly, most Americans don’t even know it’s happening. Just think of all the lawmakers who are going to now be on record.....shame, shame....
“I doubt this has much of a chance to pass, but I’m glad Mike Pence is making the effort”
Exactly. Mike Pense is one of the few statesmen and Patriots in Congress. He would be a great House Speaker if we had a majority.
You are exactly right. They are a baby killing organization and it’s all about MONEY!
HOw right you are. This grandstanding is hard to stomach, but if BHO got some of the Repubs’ dander up, finally, well, isn’t that just dandy! When there was a chance to actually do something to take $$$$$$$$$$$$$ away from this horrible organization, and the taxpayer-supported ACLU as well, nothing was done.
Good news ping!
With the majority of Dems, I doubt anything will become of it in the short run. But I agree with the other posters that it’s still wonderful news. I was heartsickened today when I was listening to the ACLJ show, and they were saying how President Obama is going to overturn the law that made government funding for overseas abortions illegal. At this point, I’ll take any pro-life law, even if it’s only symbolic.
Excellent news
Well according to PP’s rhetoric, they provide needed healthcare services to inner city families and help out in breast cancer research. So if federal funding for PP is cut, pro-lifers are racist and sexist.
I appreciate this - unfortunately, in this liberal/RINO congress it is bound to go nowhere. I have a huge issue w/ my tax dollars paying for someone’s 6th abortion - I prefer that there be consequences to limit abortions if Roe V. Wade cannot be overturned and one of those should be paying for your own abortion and not w/ my money - that will make some think twice.
