Actually, he did sign a typed statement of the oath in front of witnesses, right after the ceremony. Apparently this has been done for some time, I guess to provide a written record of the oath.

It is interesting how even now that Obama is President, the Washington Post is still a bitter newspaper looking to trash people for no reason — “After flubbing his one role on Inauguration Day — administering the oath of office to Obama — Roberts traveled to the White House to re-administer the oath.”

I guess Obama wasn’t quite the change we needed.

Interesting and I guess that would provide for an official record for the archives, etc. I’d never heard of that being done before but makes sense. Do you have a link to anything stating he signed a typewritten version? I suspect that was photographed as well.
