I expected this. Mahmoud Abbas will be the source of his first accomplishment. I believe Israel weakened Hamas enough so that Fatah can be the power that restores 'normalcy' to the Palis in Gaza. That pushes Hamas out of the way, and Abbas can use Zero to negotiate a two-state peace treaty with Israel, all before the Israeli elections.
That's what the Kadima Party has been angling for in this most recent war in Gaza.
