Thanks, SunkenCiv and Chief Engineer. I thought the significant part of post #37 was that the President of the United States barely took a break from playing pool to repeat the Oath of Office, as if this wasn’t a big deal.
Apparently Supreme Court Justice Roberts thought it was important enough to don his robe before administering the Oath. Some rituals have meaning even when conducted in an informal setting.
