I've just done something which I do very rarely: I've attended a Committee of the European Parliament. Regular readers will have gathered by now that I think there are altogether too many EU laws.

Without catch/release there could be no size limits and no closed seasons unless everything was closed.

How could they possibly manage their fisheries?

If the European Commission gets its way, they will be forced to land every tiddler they catch, and to count their quota against the national one.

The nature of government has not changed since 56 AD.

I have caught thousands of trout since 1972. Not one was kept.

These people are nuts.

However, there are those who would like to see the same thing happen here. PETA, Humane Society of the U.S., etc.
