Actually it isn't. The Hebrew characters have number values as well as word value. Therefore anyone or thing that may be named is also numbered.The Bible codes themselves are “The book within the book” spoken of in the Torah.
IFIRC Sir Issac Newton spent a great deal of time searching the Torah for the book within the book. The key that unlocked the book turned out to be the computer. Although the skip code was discovered by a Rabbi in the 1940’s who noticed that the first letters of each of the five books of the Torah spelled T-O-R-A-H.
