Flooding Disaster Assistance Available for Disabled Vets Snohomish County Release Date and Time: 01-20-2009 01:55:00 PM |

As a result of recent flooding in Western Washington and record snowfall in Eastern Washington, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is extending applications for grants under our nationally recognized Disaster Relief program.
The DAV Disaster Relief grants may be issued for the purpose of providing; food, clothing, and temporary shelter or to obtain relief from injury, illness or personal loss resulting from natural/national disasters that are not covered by insurance or other disaster relief agencies.
To be eligible for a DAV Disaster Relief grant, the following criteria must be met:
· Applicant must be a service connected disabled American veteran, his/her widow(er) or
dependent (same household).
· Applicant must be the victim of a natural/national disaster.
· Applicant's claimed loss must not be covered by insurance.
· Applicant's request for monetary assistance must be verified to substantiate that his/her
loss is not covered by insurance or compensated for by another relief agency.
