I never saw any mention of the anarchists at th '04 inauguration, but I assure you they were there - when a black policewoman tried to get them to stop throwing snowballs at the people waiting to get through security, they rushed her, knocked her down, and started kicking her in the head before the other cops could grab their riot gear and go beat the crap out of them with their nightsticks. I took pictures but they didn't come out very well.

The anarchists blockaded the entry points to security check-ins and prevented ‘ordinary’ citizens from getting through to watch the Inaugural Parade. I was there and the DC police were overwhelmed by these cretins.
Do you think they will even show up today? Shouldn’t they “believe” in “change” too, and be happy?
Or to put it another way - since the Metro Police are probably huge Obama supporters, will they be a tiny bit more restrictive on the “freedom to protest” that they allowed the thugs in Jan’05.
I never saw this mentioned either. I was in that crowd and they missed hitting my wife with an ice ball by about a foot. They also threw a big metal bicycle stand through a storefront window. Then, they found themselves hemmed in by cops at both ends of the block, well and truly screwed. I've got pics of them taken by holding the camera over my head, and some additional pics of DC's finest, suiting up in pads and helmets before getting into it. Quite a day.
