The CIC is to salute only if the troops have what is called "eyes right". The line closest to the CIC is to turn their heads. Of course the leading officer will also be saluting at him.
But the CIC must always salute an American Flag in a parade.
They were! And, they were definitely carrying our flag...he ignored them...was back shaking hands and playing kissy-kissy
