Because it was very crowded. We we at the front, near a barrier on 14th. Wafter about 40 minutes there, we were being crushed. Decided then to fight out way back. It was hard to get back because folks were jumping the security barriers and pushing forward. Lots of pushing (which really couldn't be helped). There were tons of folks (with kids and the elderly) just trying to get out before it got out of control.

Oh dear. That sounds dangerous. So glad you’re okay. Yes, it would be difficult for the older people and children.
I did hear, earlier this morning and before the festivities started, that an elderly woman was struck by a train. Haven’t heard more since.
