Gitmo defendants "PROUD" of 9/11 attacks [states Ramzi Binalshibh in court today]

Two of the five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11 attacks offered unapologetic admissions of guilt Monday in a sometimes chaotic - and possibly final - session of the Guantanamo war crimes court.

The hearings, scheduled over several days, could be the last at Guantanamo, since President-elect Barack Obama has said he would close the offshore prison at the U.S. base in Cuba and many expect him to suspend the military tribunals and order new trials in the U.S.

Ramzi Binalshibh and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed architect of the terrorist attacks, casually admitted guilt during a series of outbursts as the translators struggled to keep up and the judge repeatedly sought to regain control.

"We did what we did; we're proud of Sept. 11," Binalshibh announced....

Guantanamo court convenes with chaos, boasting

~snippet~

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-described mastermind of the September 11 hijacked plane plot, tried unsuccessfully to banish U.S. military lawyers from his defense table in the courtroom at the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and complained when the judge tried to limit his comments.

“This is terrorism, not court. You don’t give us opportunity to talk,” Mohammed told the judge, Army Col. Stephen Henley.

Mohammed, who could face execution if convicted, objected when a prosecutor characterized the charges against him and four co-defendants as the murder of nearly 3,000 innocent men, women and children.

But he later told the court, “We don’t care about the capital punishment ... we are doing jihad for the cause of God.”

Defendant Ramzi Binalshibh, whose mental competency is the subject of an ongoing challenge, told the court: “We did what we did and we are proud of this. We are proud of 9-11.”

Slam Dunk for the Defense! 9th Circuit Court dismisses all charges against the Muslim freedom fighters, awards each defendant $70 million in reparations and releases them on their own recognizance in the suburbs of Chicago.

Thank Allah for the election of the Anointed One...

["But he {Khalid Sheikh Mohammed} later told the court, "We don’t care about the capital punishment ... we are doing jihad for the cause of God."]

But, he sure seemed to "care" about the water boarding. Reportedly, he sang like a fat, waterlogged canary.

Yep, he sang like a canary and then whined according to the al Qaeda playbook.

“We did what we did and we are proud of this. We are proud of 9-11.”

Oh yeah, these guys will be easy to place, with statements like that. Everyone will want them in their local jail as long as the evil Guantanamo is closed and we are righteous again. Right.

For this reason, it is extremely unlikely that the national media will mention these remarks.

He’s no doubt preparing his grievance to be filed with the Obama administration. Should be good for a $25M payout and a villa in the South of France.

You’re correct the phrase “we are proud of 9/11” is only found in the headlines of about 2 articles:

I would be proud of being able to participate in a traditional Mohawk Indian enemy roasting and torturing ritual.

Cut him down off the spit every now and then and force him to eat, and then give us a speech.

Then tie him back up.

Let him see how alien we can really be and why he screwed with the wrong people.

You have a lot of people in Chicago who know what to do ~ even if the Judiciary has no clue.

I'm sure they'll deal with it.

They’ll deal with it all right.

They’d probably put the terrorsits on the 2016 Olympic committee. Yah know, adding that international flair to the cause.
