Maryline Blackburn, woman who beat Sarah Palin for Miss Alaska title, to perform at inaugural balls

Sarah Palin is NOT going to be thrilled with this.

The woman who edged out the former veep candidate for the title of Miss Alaska 1984 is slotted to perform at not one, but two inaugural balls in Washington, D.C.

Maryline Blackburn, who eventually traded in her tiara for a career as a professional singer, plans to celebrate Barack Obama's ascension to the presidency with gigs at swanky bashes hosted by star musicians Ludacris and Dionne Warwick.

Hmmmm.... back in '84 (24+ years ago) a woman who edged out Palin in a beauty contest. Palin and Blackburn continue their lives; Palin becomes a successful Politician and a VP Candidate, as well as an early Republican Favorite for Presidential Candidate in '12, while Blackburn becomes a singer with some limited success.

Just guessing, but I'm betting Sarah will call Blackburn, congratulate her on getting 2 impressive gigs, and invite her to visit some time. I doubt she has any issue with the woman who formerly beat her in a Miss Alaska contest.
