So let me get this straight. A stranger enters the Ramsey home in the dead of night, goes straight to their daughter's bedroom on the 3rd level of the house, snatches her, carries her down to the basement, molests her, makes a garrot out of one of the Ramseys paint brushes, kills her, then goes back upstairs, finds some writing paper, writes a rambling ransom note that just happens to mention John Ramsey's bonus amount and resembles Patsy's handwriting, scatters the note on the back stairs, then casually leaves the house and disappears, leaving the body behind. All without leaving fingerprints, blood or semen, making any noise, bothering anyone else in the house, worrying about being discovered, nor ever repeating that MO in another crime before or since.
Okey dokey. Stranger things have happened, I suppose, but color me skeptical. BTW, what the heck is DNA that can't be seen, but that can be scraped? Even tiny blood and semen drops that aren't visible to the naked eye can be seen under black light. Hairs can be seen. So maybe they are talking about skin cells. Problem is, every human being on the planet sheds hundreds, if not thousands of skin cells daily. They are in the air all around us, everywhere we go. A few non-Ramsey skin cells could have come from anywhere.
If the murderer truly did come from outside the home, and if that person did not know the Ramseys, but chose Jon Benet randomly and, as far as we know, never killed or sexually molested another child, then this is the strangest murderer in the history of crime.
Well, I’m not the prosecutor, investigator, lawyer, or grand jury... :-)
I can only relay what those guys have done and said, and so there’s the article for you...
If memory serves me correctly - there was a party the night before.
I think I remember one theory that perhaps the perp simply hid in the house and waited for everyone to leave, and waited for the family to fall asleep.
He grabs the girl and carries her to the basement.
If he manages to commit the murder without waking anyone, then he does have time to write a weird note.
And if he works with Mr. Ramsey, then he knows the amount of his bonus.
If he is strange enough to commit these acts - he is strange enough to write the note.
I’m not saying I know one way or the other, but one theory is just as strange as the other.
I find it hard to believe parents would mutilate their child’s body instead of calling 911.
