Ditto here. I plan to buy as little as possible, fortunately my lady has all kinds of crap stockpiled around here! No big ticket purchases, and I'm going to find ways around buying anything that will show up on some publically-traded company's balance sheet. Obviously, that will be impossible with gasoline, and there may be a few other such items, but I can figure out how to get what I need for at least the next couple of years without feeding the beast.

I advise people to shop at thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist and eBay. I'm going to buy my produce at the local farm market that is run by an entrepreneur. I'm going to try to trade my labor as a computer repair/networking person for goods from others and keep it off the books in any case.

Barry may be able to borrow our grandchildren blind, but he cannot "rescue" the economy without help from it's most productive citizens. And we desperately need to withhold that help!

I don't know about ebay, but the other three are already in our plans.

Don't forget flea markets and the often scowled upon art of the dumpster dive. (it's not just for leftists anymore.)

We've got a little land, and usually have a good sized garden, we're going to double the size and put in easily storable staples, potatoes, carrots, turnips, etc.. Up to now we've used the hybrids, but this year we're going heirloom and saving seeds come the fall.

If I can get the cash shaken loose, I'm also planning some chickens and rabbits for meat, eggs and fertilizer.
