Lincoln is definitely better than Washington. What say you?

Perfect record of no terror hits on America. That’s some accomplishment. Who would have said that possible on 9/12.

Carter the worst President in history, closely followed by Harding.

Worst CIC? Probably LBJ.

I disagree.

Without Washington, the USA would not exist.

Smart point. Yeah, 7 years with no attacks is nothing to shrug about.

My problem with Lincoln is that he presided over the deaths of hundreds of thousands of US citizens. By any objective standard, that has to put him at the bottom of the list. Of course, few historians understand what “objective” really means.

Couldn’t the same be said of Lincoln, though?

But if the standard of greatness is simply no one dying on the president’s watch, then wouldn’t that mean a bunch of crappy presidents should be regarded highly?

Lyndon Johnson was bad. Some thought he would go to no ends to become president. He abused his vice-president, made fun of Lady Bird and just kept us in the Vietnam War.

Yes, Linconln was better at consolidating power to a central government than Washington. Seriously, are you on the right Site?

There were a few attacks, beltway sniper, Chapel Hill idiot that ran down the students in his car. The media is too ignorant to call them terrorists.

George Washington was our best President, IMO. But then I’m an eccentric, who is loyal to our Nation instead of being more loyal to any creepy group sucking up to old Europe or any international pecuniary interest.

FDR is a mixed bag for me. He did a great job of defeating Germany and Japan, but his failure to recognize the long term threat of communism to our future was a huge mistake. He brought avid socialists into the highest positions in the government. He also started us down the long road to socialism via the laws and programs he initiated.

...worst president in history? Too many pea-brained, vain, romanticist, pandering, special interest puppets come too close to each other in that category.

Johnson never had a prayer thanks to the Repubs...he was a Dem IIRC, and tried to moderate the post war retribution.

Pierce was pro south, that’s the main reason for his unpopularity.

On the other hand, Harding was a crook, and Carter was an imbecile.
