Gosset has never really struck me as a 100% "Hollywood Herd Animal." Anyone who can turn out the great performance that he did in Enemy Mine has to have a reasonable head on his shoulders.

Enemy Mine is a greatly under rated movie. Gosset gave and amazing performance.

I read somewhere about him that he lives a fairly simple life centered around a large sailboat. And supposedly a pretty intelligent man.
Sailing without a crew eventually involves math, reality, and judgement. Hes supposed to actually be pretty professional in matters of sailing.

Even though im sickened at the thought of Obama, I can see how a black American might be pretty excited about it. But its nice that Gossett has limits and walked.

Lou Gossett Jr. is a great actor. Unfortunately, if you read the article, his complaint was the performers weren’t “diverse” enough. The chairwoman of the ball chose a “paler state of celebrity guests - Ashley Judd, Patricia Arquette, Josh Lucas, Ed Harris and Kate Walsh.”
