Nitrogen. It is in our atmosphere, and the Earth. Plants must have it to survive. Somehow, concentrated forms of it that are engineered, slowly release and feed plants in a much more efficient way, greatly increasing production and feed far more people than do “organic” forms.
the only difference is, the “non-organic” version can be engineered to give the crop the exact nutrients that the local soil conditions lack. And also be free of other biological hazards like the one mentioned here.
Other than that, there are no other hazards from “non-organic” food crops, especially the fear of “chemical” health risks. The herbicides and pesticides used today are neutralized by contact with soil, water and sunlight. And, the proof is, more people are living longer than ever in spite of the fact that more food is produced this way than ever before.
