I was an idiot and could have gone there on a full scholarship (something they did for top ranking students at some local private schools), instead, I wanted to get away from home and moved across state to Texas Tech (gag)..

US News and World Report top Colleges of rankings:

.... Exactly, it doesn't even sniff top three in the country, boy does that blurb contain all kinds of selective quoting and creative interpretation to make a middling, non-descript ranking better than it really is ...

Sorry about that. I did not realize you were a sand aggie.

I will now cease to question the quality of the Letourneau Engineering program and not request that you provide an independent source that states that Letourneau has one of the top three engineering schools in the nation.

You are right, they are highly rated, but it is all about size.. I guess I hear the advertising so much, it seems to have stuck.. bad me...

*snicker*

Ironic that if you complete a course of study at a conservative college you’re awarded a degree stating you studied liberal arts.

I’m about as conservative as they come and I graduated from UMass. That’s about as liberal as universities get. In fact, I attribute much of my conservative thought as a reaction to the overt liberal indoctrination that was practiced by the professors.

According to this list, if a student wishes to study a hard science, he should not choose one of these schools.

Actually, Grove City College has an excellent Engineering school where a lot of their faculty members are Ivy League grads and a lot of their graduates go on to such top graduate schools as Carnegie Mellon and U Penn ( after all, its an undergraduate school ).

It also has an excellent Biology and Physics program. For the past 5 years their Pre-medical school has 100% acceptance to some of the country's top medical schools.

Honorable mentions: BYU

I think BYU was in the Top Ten last year. Now only HM. (Perhaps rating going down because of things like when BYU invited Harry Reid for a campus-wide speaking event October 2007...and Reid took the opportunity to slam Evangelicals/ conservatives)

I think they forgot to mention Hudson High [West Point], Annapolis, the Air Force Academy, the Coast Guard Academy, and the Maritime Academy.

LOL! For a second, I thought you meant St. John’s UNIVERSITY in Queens, New York, New York, the school so liberal it got excommunicated from Catholicism. In New York. Let that sink in a little bit.

Yeah, liberal arts, in the sense of suited for liberi, or free men, as opposed to slaves and servants.

Havard has an engineering school? Who knew?

If I knew a kid interested in a real engineering school I'd send him to MSOE

And I think you, among others, didn't read the article.
