...McCain actually showed a good uptick with the selection of Palin, but his numbers crashed when he decided to suspend his campaign and fly back to DC to help with the management of the financial meltdown. It made him look like an erratic, stuntsman and panderer ... and he never recovered the political center.
Amen and amen, tanknetter. Rick Davis (and John McCain, for that matter) should seriously discover retirement or another line of work...
Thanks for the ping!
The only thing worse that the campaign and the candidate, is the performance of these scoundrels after the election. Davis isn’t competent to run a statewide campaign, much less national. AS for McCain, he should never have survived a primary battle for re-election.
When McCain suspended his campaign my gut instict, which I didn’t want to admit, was that it was a mistake (and it was). However, the decision to suspend was 100% McCain - not Rick Davis.
But Rick Davis is also wrong. It was not Rush’s fault. Rush simply filled a void that McCain and Davis left lacking on the right. Had they engaged conservatives more fully Rush would’ve had less cause to fill that void.
Bush wanted BHO to win. He and McCain were like water and oil.
