It is just as well that Robinson won’t pray in Jesus’ name. It is more fitting that he says some sort of pagan, Gnostic prayer. The only shame is that Robinson represents a supposedly Christian church and many people don’t know the difference. Robinson knows that someday Jesus will return to separate the wheat from the chaff - the faux Bishop can deny Jesus all he wants but that won’t change anything.
It is appropriate that only a Christian would offer a Christian prayer, so we understand your being unwilling or unable to do so, Vickie Gene.
Bishop Robinson said he had been reading inaugural prayers through history and was “horrified” at how “specifically and aggressively Christian they were.” He states, “I am very clear that this will not be a Christian prayer, and I won’t be quoting Scripture. The texts I hold as sacred are not sacred texts for all Americans, and I want all people to feel that this is their prayer.”
I can’t even say how sad this makes me. His heart is so far from the truth. The only prayer that can help America is a prayer to the YAHWEH RAPHA ( the Lord who heals).
It kind of gives new meaning to the expression, “By their fruits ye shall know them.”
Add “King” to that and you have the entire bloody sectarian history of England since Henry VIII.

I guess a normal patriotic American can say they are disgusted at how intentionally and aggressively un-Christian, anti-American and secular-humanistic Gene Robinson's mental and spiritual sickness appears to be.
While the perverted Bishop's view hates America, the conservative view is pleased by those same Christian prayers the perverted Bishop hates so much.
This aggressively perverted charlatan is a clear reflection of the Democrat party, Hollywood, the news media, television, Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher and Rosie O'Donnell. (and a few loud, anti-Bible liberals on Free Republic)
Thank you Gene Robinson for at least admitting what true Americans have been saying for years, America always was a conservative Christian nation until the far left loons began to attack our country's very foundation.
The very perverted Bishop Gene Robinson is led by the same anti-American fanaticism as all Social leftists.
They all are at war against America's historical moorings, just like the few, loud, anti-Christian fanatics on Free Republic.
If Obama needs a non-Christian involved in his ceremonies certainly there are better choices ~ for example, there are several Shinto shrines at Ise who could provide a priest or two.
At the same time the Dalai Lama, a well-known Buddhist figure, would be right there if asked.
In the future Obama, and other Presidents, really ought to think through this part ~ the non-Christian part ~ bringing in faux Christians is hardly uplifting.
