One of the first retailers to go under, but not the last.

OH NO!!!

First our year-old Office Depot started liquidating last month and now this?!?

All we'll have left is our wretchedly useless Staples store, now!

CC was on their way to going under anyway. Their big “who needs expensive (aka experienced and skilled) sales people” move a few years ago put them on the death spiral. The most the economy did was hasten their end by a year or two.

My daughter worked for Circuit City briefly about four years ago. I said at that time that Circuit City was moribund. They got stuck between the big box and small local niches and couldn’t keep any traction.

You said — “One of the first retailers to go under, but not the last.”

There was another one (an electronics chain), about a year ago, I believe. I can’t remember their name now, though.
