Windy City Times releases 1996 survey answers
CHICAGO - During his run for Illinois state Senate in 1996, Barack Obama stated his unequivocal support for gay marriage, according to an exclusive story in the Jan. 14, 2009 Windy City Times newspaper.
President-elect Obama's answer to a 1996 Outlines newspaper question on marriage was: "I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages." [snip]
Shown here are copies of the 1996 primary election questionnaire issued by IMPACT, which was Illinois' Gay and Lesbian Political Action Organization. The form had been due Jan. 12, 1996, and was signed by Barack Obama on Jan. 7, 1996. In this election, he was running for the Democratic nomination for 13th District State Senator. He won the primary and eventually the election that fall.

Remember at the debate when he vowed, “We will kill Bin Laden, we will crush al-Qaeda”? He’s stressed the importance of taking out Osama on other occasions, but never quite as forcefully as that. Why, enter the quote in Google and you’ll find it immortalized in the very first hit with an especially fulsome tribute at the Daily Dish.

OBAMA: I think that we have to so weaken his infrastructure that, whether he is technically alive or not, he is so pinned down that he cannot function. My preference obviously would be to capture or kill him. But if we have so tightened the noose that he’s in a cave somewhere and can’t even communicate with his operatives then we will meet our goal of protecting America.

Why did Obama date it 95 instead of 96?
Let’s make sure we’re not getting punk’d first.
His Press spokesman has said that Obama will allow gays to serve openly in the military and eliminate the don’t ask, don’t tell policy. Can marriage be far behind?

He also is going to do away with the don’t ask don’t tell policy of gays in the military. He is going to screw up everything he touches. Things will be as screwed up as a soup sandwich.

Obama’s 300 Tax Increases In Illinois & The State That Lags Economically!

But, what can he do about it? Thirty states have amended their constitutions. The only thing that can change that is the Supreme Court, and Zero's nominations are going to be for Justices that were already for gay marriage anyway.
No, he's not going to propose an amendment to the US Constitution, but when GWB proposed that, it went nowhere anyway. He could propose that Congress pass a law overturning DOMA for him to sign, but like I said, in the intervening dozen years, we have thirty state constitutions amended.
About all he can do is tinker at the edges a bit. He can direct his Treasury secretary to promulgate regulations to recognize the gay marriages that the states recognize for the purpose of Federal income taxation, and perhaps do the same with Social Security. Chances are, any Supreme Court case involving such issues would be decided that way anyhow, the Court has a history of deferring to state law in the administration of tax law.
FReepers always knew this is his position the ‘gay marriage’ issue....and knew he was lying during the election.....
Why wasn’t this questionnaire published before Nov. 4th?
