Letter From Imprisoned Border Guard Campean
email from World Net Daily | 1/15/2009 | Jose A. Aompean

Posted on 01/15/2009 5:30:44 AM PST by IbJensen

WorldNetDaily Reader:

I want to thank all of you for your support. The amount of cards and letters I have received has been incredible.

Although our case received attention before we reported to prison, I truly believed people would forget all about us. Once we reported to prison, I was very happy to see how wrong I was. I have received thousands of letters from people all over the country. I have also received letters from other countries such as Italy and even a few from soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Imprisoned agent Jose Compean

All of these letters have given me a lot of hope. Knowing that people have been praying for us has also given me a lot of strength. Your prayers have really helped me get through some tough times, especially after the appeals court ruled against us. Reading my mail that night made me feel much better.

I want to apologize to a lot of you. As I said earlier, I have received thousands of letters. When I first started getting them, I was able to respond to all of them. The number of letters increased and it is almost impossible to respond to every one. I wanted to, but I wasn't able to keep up.

These last two years have been very hard for my family and me. This has affected us in so many different ways. We have lost two years of our lives that we will never get back.

One of the best memories I have is from my visit with Patty, my wife, and our kids last September. We were all sitting down, playing a board game. For the first time in a very long time, it felt like we were a family. It was great.

As Patty told WND, "God will not throw something at you that you cannot handle."

This has made our family stronger, as well as brought Patty and I much closer. When I feel down or discouraged, I lean on my wife for support. She has done a great job at home with our kids. I am very proud of her, and I love her with all my heart.

Thank you again for everything you have done to help. Words are not enough to express how grateful my family and I are.

I ask that you continue to contact the White House on our behalf these last few days before President Bush leaves office. I also ask that you continue to pray for our families. Hopefully Ignacio and I will be home soon.

God bless you and your families.

Sincerely,

Jose A. Compean

Jorge won't pays no attention to our pleas to free this innocent public servant and his comrade Ramos.

Let THIS be his pitiful legacy: framing then allowing innocent men to languish behind bars for doing their jobs.

If Bush does not pardon/commute, this will be his legacy. Near complete failure.

President Bush’s treatment of these two heroes, is IMHO a large part of the reason Obama is taking office next week.

Their treatment, and the “vigilantes” thing.

Nothing like discouraging your own base, Sir.

Would anyone care to take on placing an add in a newpaper, to Bush, to free these guys? I’ll gladly help and contribute. Or does anyone else have any ideas for public pleas for a pardon?

It appears that the Ramos, Campean deal to persecute (not prosecute) these two capable government employees was made with the even more evil Mexican government. It was 'crafted' to send a message to other Border Patrol agents: don't shoot illegals or you'll be thrown in prison with them in order that they beat your brains out!

This deal stinks like the one the Brothers Kennedy made with the USSR: the USA will NEVER invade Cuber if you'll just take those nasty missiles out.

Our entire government is like a malignant cancer that has been slowly eating away at the fabric that was once America. They have progressed by inches and now they have succeeded in placing a complete fraud in the White House to 'legitimize' the evil they do in our dangerous Congress.

He refuses to discuss the matter. His ‘mind’ is made up, rather like a bed used by a whore.

I’ve written to Johnny Sutton’s dear friend several times, to no avail. One thing I did recently was write to the President Select about Ramos and Compean. It was a nice civil letter explaining how it would show leadership that we see is currently lacking in the White House. I suggest you all do the same. I don’t think you have to argue the case, just ask Commander Zero to grant a full Presidential Pardon his first few days in the Office. Forget the commutation, ask for a full pardon. Oh, and do refrain from using nicknames. www.change.gov

The issue is not ‘can’t”, the issue is “don’t want to”

Our Presidente plans on moving to Dallas from Crawford when he leaves office. Enough said. He can move into one of those high brow RINO areas that breed this kind of “conservative” republican I have come to detest albeit not as much as the rats.

If Clinton stooped to pardon those PR terrorists and Bush cannot rise up to pardon those who were actually doing their job to guard our borders then I never want to hear the name Bush in conjunction with any future candidate for office.

Larry King asked him about Pardons last night - and he said he would not discuss them (although he hinted he might be granting some).

If you go to NumbersUSA you can send a free fax to the whitehouse today.

Won’t hurt to give it a try. Flood the whitehouse with faxes and maybe he’ll reconsider knowing that Americans want this injustice righted.

Has he ever metioned pardons for them or if not, why he wouldn’t?

My understanding of why he wouldn't is that it would reverse the actions of his friend, Johnny Sutton. Loyalty, dontchaknow. The lives of two good men be damned. Even Sutton has said that the punishment is far more than they deserved. Personally, I and most others, don't think they deserved any.
