Pace spoke of the portrait and thanked Egeli “for treating me gently,” but also spoke of the portrait that “is the canvas of my heart.” He said it was an incredible privilege to serve.

“I miss it. I miss being able to reach out and touch folks in uniform,” he said. “If I could find a way to serve the nation again, I would.”

A good man. We are going to need men like him in the very near future.

A great man.
Run down for his views on homosexuals.

“Run down for his views on homosexuals.”

Sad but true. Gen. Pace was probably the best JCS Chairman we have had, but he drew the ire of the left for stating what his beliefs (and really those of the military) on homosexuality are.

Same thing happened to Reggie White. How pathetic that great men get run down for stating what many think and feel. As we keep getting rid of those that have America’s best intentions at heart, there will be few left that have the will and means to defend this nation.
