WASHINGTON—Members of Congress from the San Diego area are telling the Pentagon they don't want detainees at the Guantanamo Bay military prison moved to Camp Pendleton.
Congressmen Duncan D. Hunter, Darrell Issa (ICE'-ah) and Brian Bilbray took the position in a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Tuesday—a day after news emerged that President-elect Barack Obama plans to close Guantanamo by executive order soon after taking office.
A Pentagon official has said the Southern California Marine base is one possible destination for the detainees.
The lawmakers say sending terror suspects to Pendleton could distract Marines and raise safety concerns.

I am convinced that NObama has already crafted a number of Executive Orders which he will sign before he puts on a bow tie and goes dancing on Jan 20.
This is one I had not thought of, but I have a list of others.
Instead of Camp Pendleton they can put them on San Clemente Island or bring them to the Barry Goldwater range.
The modern Democratic Party has nurtured the NIMBY instinct at every turn. This will be interesting.
Obama is about to find out why Guantanamo is still open.
Here in San Diego we don’t want anymore terrorists.
The two terrorists who flew into the Pentagon were living
here over a year and that is enough.
Also S.D. has the largest concentration of military in the world and major bases. We don’t need to attract people who can do damage.
San Diego also has over 30,000 Iraqis mostly Chaldean Christians.

So does this mean these terrorists will not be brought to Ft. Leavenworth, KS? A place not far from I70 East to West, or I35 North to South.
