Great paper, but they do have their facts wrong:
From the St. Petersburg Times:
The abortion rate in Russia - though declining rapidly over the past decade - was still the highest among the surveyed countries at 139 abortions per 100 live births in 2002, the last year considered in the UNICEF report. In 1993, the abortion rate peaked at 235 per 100 live births.

The lowest life expectancy (59) among Caucasian males.
And Putin thinks he will restore Russia as a Great Power to be feared? He may have to rely on foreign mercenaries.
