All hail the Führer.
Looks like VT will be joining in too.
I’m sorry, but I just don’t think that was respectful. He is absolutely not the one I voted for, but he will be our President, and the inauguration is very important. We are going to make a “huge deal” of it in our middle school. I think it’s very important to help instill a sense of patriotism in our students, and I think any inauguration is going to be interesting and beneficial.
I see that they haven’t changed since I was there when, to commemorate founder Thomas Jefferson’s 250th birthday, they invited Mikhail Gorbachev to give a speech on The Lawn.
"Tomorrow belongs to me !"
“The coming together of a nation.”

Well, you’ll have to leave me out of your faux consensus, you talentless, academic parasite.
I am back to Clinton mode (ignore the Presidency), for the duration of the constitutionally unqualified Race Marxist.
Oh, well, then you’d better not look at post #7. You’ll be very offended. He’s not my President, and that terrorist-backed pig never will be.
Question -— did they do this for the inauguration of Bush four years ago? And eight years ago? Clinton’s 12 and 16 years ago? Is this a new policy? If so what prompted this policy?
Did they suspend classes for Nixon? Reagan? Bush I? Bush II? For that matter did they do it for carter or clinton?
Seriously, if they always suspend classes for Inauguration (capitalization painfully supplied for the action not the act), then this is a non-issue.
If this is the first time they have done this since Jefferson, then this is an affront and all you Alumni should come down on them — HARD! Start a LARGE group of alumni who make it clear they will not ever donate a dime again.
They will listen to that. Trust me — Pepperdine (my alma mater and also where I worked with the Development Office) ain’t no UVA, but it it is an elite institution that lives on its alumni.
You can bet your bottom dollar that this "coming together" viewing at U of V and others was not held four or eight years ago.
“I think its very important to help instill a sense of patriotism in our students,...”
That’s nice. I hope you explain to them that our Republican form of government is under attack from Comrade Zero and his Merry Band of Thugs, and may well not exist in four years.
Great minds -- great minds :)
I agree. The office is still important and I for one will try to act with respect to the degree that I can for the office, unlike may of the DFL people I know who can’t seperate the two. I may not like Obama or 99.9% of what he wants to do, but at the end of the day he is still the President of my country and I will be respectful no matter how annoying the press, the liberal left or any individual I know will be over the next couple of weeks - four years..
Did they suspend classes for Bush/Reagan? If not I hope it snows and is 10 below zero and if they did then enjoy the day.
At work, my employer is broadcasting the event in the company lunch room and offering a free lunch buffet to all employees to celebration the historic day. My dept supervisor is relaxing the formal dress code on Jan 20th to allow people to wear jeans and an Obama shirt. I am the only one who does not worship the Messiah at my workplace.
Just curious. Did "your school" do the same when President Bush was inaugurated or is this type of "patriotic" display only reserved for Democratic Party victors? My guess is "your school" had classes during both of President Bush's inaugurations and the only reason why this is being done now is the color of this new President's skin.
