He didn't warn against all, he warned against permanent alliances that bring in undue influence. He also encouraged trade alliances, but most importantly, he encouraged alliances for extraordinary emergencies.

I agree that we need limited government. Absolutely. However, our security and the security of the entire world is facing an extremely dangerous threat from Islamic extremists/terrorists. The way he wants to deal with those threats is reason enough to NOT have supported him.
What good is limited government if our nation is destroyed in the meantime because of people like Paul.

Its a straw man argument paul supporters use... basically, accusing anyone who doesn’t follow him not wanting limited government. There are a lot of people who preach limited government whom I wouldn’t want leading this country if they where the last person on earth (Pat Buchanan, David Duke, etc)...

I did not feel as if I was being accused of not wanting limited government, but I do agree that to use “limited government” as a good reason to support Ron Paul is a straw man argument. Being right on that issue does not trump national security.
Ron Paul never seemed quite right to me from a mental standpoint. This proves that my instincts about him where spot on.
But from someone who gladly accepts support from Jewhaters and ni*ggerhaters, this isn't surprising at all.
No, noninterference in the sovereign affairs of other nations WAS his policy. This is in accordance to the Law of Nations as enumerated in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 10 of the US Constitution.

While Washington gave a caveat for temporary alliances due to an emergency, he made his feelings on the matter quite plain:

A lot of extended families have these loveable elderly relatives who don’t have all their grits on their plate. They embarrass us sometimes, but they’re still one of our own.
Ron Paul needs to find a nice rocking chair and spare the American public his wild fantasies.
