His looks alone will sink his candidacy.
I’m not sure who is the best to run for Kirk’s seat. Perhaps if not an elected official, somebody from the private sector, and someone definitely not affiliated with the Combine.
Blago won downstate (third in Chi-town lmao @ Mell)! I don’t recall that Barry won it in the primary. But he sure kicked Hynes’ and the damaged Hulls’ butts’. Hynes piss-poor showing surprised me. Tears welled in eyes at the Obama landslide. :p
No not mine but that’s when Obamamania started here. Soon it was exported nationwide by the convention Speech pablum. Uhg.
Yes it helps for a Republican to be from Chicagoland. The last major office holder who wasn’t was...George Ryan is from Kanakee, but that’s close, part of the greater area. Jim Edgar is from from downstate.
I wouldn’t discount a a downstater. However yes no Republican can win without appealing to the burbs. Also the recent winners have all topped 25% in the city. Hardly impossible, I think Bush got 20%.
Cross is a combiner as far as I know. It’s a joke to have him as leader.
Holding Kirk’s seat might by tough, I think Dan Seals would lose yet again because he is a joke for not beating Kirk on Barry’s coattails. However he would not win the rat nod for an open seat. There are a plethora of rat legislators. Senator Terry Link the first rat to takeover what used to be a GOP area or Senator Susan Garret would beat Seals. I do think a better Republican than Kirk can win it. But I don’t know who our candidate would be. Hopefully non of the RINO millionaires that ran in 2000.
John with an H Porter was Kirk’s boss and predecessor. ‘Human Events’ called him a ‘liberal’ and considered Kirk a ‘moderate’ and thus claimed a gain. But he’s a carbon copy if not worse.
Mustache power!
Kirk is worse than Porter. I moved into the area, from California, in 2001, but several people who have lived in the district for at least 20 years told me that Kirk is more liberal than Porter.
