Looks like DC grew during GWB's presidency. It's now gonna boom under the wussybama.

Certain groups will benefit and certain groups will lose.

The winners should include both residential and commercial real estate, as more of America’s money and talent gets diverted into the region.

In a currupt banana republic, all the business’s have their head office in the capital. That is where they receive benefits from the govt and give bribes in return.

Kinda like Moscow during the height of the USSR. Looks like DC will be trending that way during the upcoming administration.

All those paper-pushers who create no value will prosper, while the producers and those with capital will be running for the tall grass.

Anyone here who has not read P.J. O’Rourke’s “Parliament of Whores” should do so immediately. It will give you profound insight into the doings in DC. Plus it’s funny as all get out.

I can tell you that the real estate market around here is not impervious to regular market forces.

Given wussybama’s preference to grow the federal government, DC’s commercial real estate will recover before any other market. Also, I was in DC on Friday. One of the things I noticed while looking at the DC skyline from Reagan National was all the construction cranes around the Capitol building.

Wow. I haven’t heard from O’Rourke in years. Never read Parliament of Whores, I may have to pick up a copy.

D.C. has been trending that way since the mid-70's. That region (including the VA and MD suburbs) hasn't produced anything of tangible value in years. It's Hollywood East.

So, Celera Genomics & AOL were of no tangible value?

Can't say I'm aware of Celera, but I certainly considered AOL when I submitted the post.

THE #1 reason Maryland is stuck being a “liberal” (communist) state. All those do-gooder commies move here to do the damage in and to DC (without living in it).

Yes, your observation was correct. However, many of those building projects have been in the works for years and upon closer inspection, those new buildings do not have tenants.
