In a country where church and state are separated, how dare anyone make a decision that violates the teachings of a Roman mystery cult! Wow! Your hatred of the Catholic Church has truly blinded you.
Perhaps you can give us the name of just one Christian denomination that has historically (not some group that has adopted heresy in the past generation or so) supported suicide. Can you do that, can you you name ONE?

Wow! Your hatred of the Catholic Church has truly blinded you. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
The statement "In a country where church and state are separated, how dare anyone make a decision that violates the teachings of a Roman mystery cult" is mindless drivel.
Not only does this person not understand Christianity, he doesn't even understand the Constitution of the United States.

I was referring to Christianity: it was a cult that struck it big when one of the half-mad emperors made it official. Initially it was very "pro death." The first official prohibition against suicide came from Augustine: too many of the faithful were trying too hard to achieve martyrdom, provoking Roman authorities, desecrating temples, etc.
Suicide is mentioned only a few times in the Bible (Samson, Judas, two others I'm blocking on) but there's nothing even resembling a prohibition.
