I work real close by LAX, and they routinely check all trucks, vans and vehicles like this.
Trying to avoid a “Tim McVeigh II” get too near the passenger terminals...
Interesting. I have a feeling that this will be all a big mistake for the gunowner. I would imagine that a terrorist, gang banger or scumbag would have a rental truck, beat up van, or something along those lines rather than a nice-looking four-door Silverado with a hard tonneau on it.
Prejudiced I suppose - but it doesn’t seem to fit the profile. Some guy moving, selling the arms etc. Had one sitting on his seat that got noticed, or politely answered the police when asked “any weapons or explosives in the vehicle?” (Probably an “oh crap” moment right about then!).
What authority do they use to check the cars? What’s the PC?
Do they ask permission to search, or just search?
Ed
Oh sure...
Meanwhile the (CTA) central terminal area, has 400 taxi cabs circling it 24 hours per day, most all of which are driven by Muslims/Mid-Easterners...
You mean “trying to avoid insane Egyptian shooting up El-Al counter”, don’t you?
