They could call themselves the “Marching Dudes”, but that would be discriminatory against women.
So they could change that to “Marching People”. But that is insensitive to people who can’t march. Also, “marching” evokes images of warfare.
A good alternative would be “those people over there”, but that is intolerant to other species. As though only human beings are worthy of being noticed.
Henceforth, when referring to the Michigan band, you should just sort of point your fingers and grunt.

I was in a conversation with the 'diversity queen' at a major corporation. She was critical of my telling jokes. I asked if I could tell a joke about a rock. She thought for a moment, and said no. Someone might think that the rock was just a substitute for another group.
So grunting is out too. Might be a slur against those who don't understand English.
