More of the libs unintended consequences at work...

Yup. I wonder if that $120-150 million figure they're throwing around includes the decreased number of smokers. FYI, what they aren't mentioning in this article about their decrease of the food tax is that when they dropped the tax on groceries, they raised the tax on "prepared" food, so eating out became more expensive. Nice, huh?

"...decrease of the food tax is that when they dropped the tax on groceries, they raised the tax on "prepared" food, so eating out became more expensive. "

Actually, what the greedy bastards in government are doing is watching the markets, and whatever is selling the best, or whichever firm is makeing good profits, they figure out how to tax it. It's like, "OK peasants, if you have money to throw away eating out and smoking cigarettes, then you have the free money to give to the cause...the government."

That sort of takes away our right to the "pursuit of happiness", as paying tax on everything I enjoy does not make me very happy.

The only solution would be to stop doing whatever their newest designer tax is levied on, and let them dry up. Of course that would be never-ending, and that would get them around to taxing air that much sooner.

Here's what I would suggest...a 45% tax on Government Bailouts. Someone wants a million dollar bailout...grant it, but withhold $450,000 in income taxes.

Makes sense to me...if I win the lottery, they withold federal and state taxes..it's income. A bailout is NOT a loan...it's a gift...If I give my son a million dollars, he has to pay taxes on it, as income.

To thine ownself be true.
