What's Klein doing? auditioning to be a regular guest on CoastToCoastAM?
He hates Bush - Cheney and he's a tin foil wrapped nut.

I’m sure more Americans are so concerned about alleged “war crimes” than the affirmative action mortgages and political payoffs that have led to this economy.
Klein really has his priorities straight, doesn’t he?

You would Joe would want to be right every now and then if for no other reason than to break the monotony.

If Joe Klein thinks that placing women’s panties on the heads of prisoners is a war crime, or even subjecting them to having water poured in their face, even a LOT of water poured in their face is a war crime, I wonder if he’d consider incinerating 100,000 Japanese civilians, like Harry Truman did a war crime. Or if dropping napalm on little Vietnamese kids like LBJ did, was a war crime. Or if fire-bombing the German city of Dresdan like FDR did, a war crime. Or if interning 20,000 Japanese-American citizens for the duration of the war like FDR did, a war crime.
Oh, wait. Those guys weren’t Republicans. Never mind.

Where's the
"... not this sh*t again!" guy when you need him?
I am yawning at the idea of a war crimes trial involving Bush or Cheney, inspired by these pathetic gerbil packing idiots who should know better. Klein is way past the line, and should be heavily sedated and under physical restraint for his own good.

I think this has been a profoundly un-American administration. Klein, whose piece for the January 19 edition of the magazine contended Vice President Dick Cheney and other officials perpetrated what many legal scholars consider to be war crimes, lamented on MSNBC that it's going to be very hard to prosecute these people but, he ruminated about the fanciful idea that it might happen overseas with Cheney being snatched mid-stream while, you know, fly fishing in Norway as Augusto Pinochet, the dictator in Chile, was. Here, the obedient serf Klein is servicing the upcoming Marxist Obama administration by drumming up hysterical liberal hatred of Dubya, and his imaginary malfeasances.
Expect the hysterical media Bush blame mongering and Marxist Obama swooning to reach a fever pitch about January 19th, in order to provide Marxist Obama with a grand entrance.
It's not just Klein, his editors had to read and approve.
Human fungi, all.

Sorry, boys - but if your side doesn’t wear a military uniform, you don’t get to claim the Geneva conventions.
Even war has rules.

I'm confused--I thought it was the Evil Right Wing that called people unpatriotic and unAmerican, while the lefties are so unjudgmental?
To: St. Louis Conservative
Think about this for just a second. The Progressives. through Klien and the MSM are going to start defining us, you and I, as Un-American. Infuriating but interesting.

a memorandum stating that the Third Geneva Convention -- the one regarding the treatment of enemy prisoners taken in wartime -- did not apply to members of al-Qaeda or the Taliban. Terrorists aren't signatories to any convention. You shoot them where you find them.
This is the deal we have; we treat them with the utmost respect, and they saw our heads off. A couple of our guys get carried away and amuse themselves putting panties on their heads, and they pay with years in prison for it.
There is no comparison between our treatment of the enemy, and their treatment of us. Joe Klein is twisted if he thinks there is. These people have no idea what torture is; there are real torturers on the loose in this world, but they would wet themselves if they had to confront them. They satisfy themselves by going after the men who do have the courage that they themselves do not.

Klein argued that Bush led directly to the abuses of Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo when he signed a memorandum stating that the Third Geneva Convention -- the one regarding the treatment of enemy prisoners taken in wartime -- did not apply to members of al-Qaeda or the Taliban. He declared: It was his single most callous and despicable act. It stands at the heart of the national embarrassment that was his presidency. Um...what? Has Joe Klein ever read the Geneva Convention?

"Sorry, boys - but if your side doesnt wear a military uniform, you dont get to claim the Geneva conventions. How is this concept so difficult to grasp by the far left wing. This isn't even a close call. When the enemy doesn't abide by ANY rules of modern day warfare, how else can you fight them? Somewhere Winston Churchill and George Patton are nauseated.
