CA schools are near the bottom in ranking nationally. Students attend school half days almost every week because of teacher workshops. That is where Arnold could be cutting time.

It's far stupider than you think. The state gave monies to districts across the state to pay for books, supplies, staff, etc. Now the state has asked for that money back, regardless of whether it's been spent. That means that districts that contracted for people to work for them have to lay off these people because their funding's been cut. Same with books. If a district got 3.5 mil for books, and spent 1.5, it still has to pony up the 1.5 to give back to the state.

'Course, if they would just stop payments to illegals, stop education to illegals, and stop health care to illegals, most of the budget problems would solve themselves. I agree with you on the workshops, but a lot of those were funded when the state actually had moolah. Stuff now, though, dump it.
