“Volcanoes Cool The Tropics, But Global Warming May Have Helped Override Some Recent Eruptions”

Wonder if this might have an effect on the discrepancy noted by the author between modeled upper atmosphere temps in the tropics and actual observed temps?
No it doesn't. In fact, it suggests just the opposite.
Greenhouse gas theory predicts that the tropical troposphere temperatures should increase at a rate 2 or 3 times faster than the tropical surface temperatures. If volcanoes are truly cooling the tropics, that would make it easier for the troposphere temps to stay ahead of surface temps.
Hence, the alleged fact that volcanoes are cooling the tropics, yet the troposphere temperature rates still remain behind the surface rates suggests that the greenhouse gas theory is even more wrong than previously thought.
