I couldn't agree more. In another four years people won't be ready. It would be a good thing if most of the nation lost their network broadcasts (or at least network newscasts). Was the populace dependent on the government to make the switch from AM to FM radio? From radio to television? For goodness sake, buy your own damn converter box or don't watch TV!

Was the populace dependent on the government to make the switch from AM to FM radio? From radio to television? To be fair, neither of those abandoned old technology. They just added new signals, just as going from B&W TV to color. I don't know what happened when FM was moved from around 45 MHz to around 100 MHz. That would be similar to ours because it did make equipment useless.
