Didn't all the TV stations in one city in NC (I think) shut down all their analog transmitters as a test to see how it worked? What were the results of that?

The station I watch most often for local news, WAVY-TV, out of the Hampton Roads area of VA did a test Tuesday morning. We made a point to be up and switch all TVs to that station at the appointed time. The result is we do not need converters boxes as all TVs received the digital signal just fine.

I purchased an RCA converter for the one TV we own (in our camper) and use during the Summer.
I hooked it up properly and set the unit to discover digital channels. It got bupkis. Not one. And I have a very nice roof top style antenna (with UHF element) on a 30 foot mast. So it can't be lack of exposure to signal.

I seriously doubt anyone with a "rabbit ears" set top antenna will fare any better unless they are in close proximity to the stations they want to watch.

Hahahahaha. As I suspected! I am not doing anything and will see what happens to my humble rabbit ears RCA set on 2/17/09.
