I got caught up in the great lay-off of 2001 and this one seems to be less.

I understand new government jobs will go up by 600,000 under our new
King , er,
President Obama.
What would we do without him?

"EMC Corporation announced 2,400 (7%) worldwide, with 600 of those in Massachusetts." and Agilent lays off 10% of workforce today.

All I know is that Government is hiring. The private sector is bleeding jobs and big Gubmint is hiring at a rapid pace. We all already work for the government anyway.

Well, Obama voters did want change, and voted to punish business.
With Hussein's promise of tax hikes, we and most business owners we know are reorganizing.

Minimum Wage increased and Conservatives said this would lead to employers laying off workers.
July 24th, 2009 will mark another increase.
I have a prediction: Employers will lay more people off.

I am still of the belief that this whole mess was manufactured, for political purposes at the very least, and(now that THEIR people are in place)the recovery will be equally manufactured, probably second half of this year.
Sometimes things just don't pass the smell test...whether one is a conspiracy theorist or not.

And yes, they actually DID have "black helicopters" flying overhead. Just ask Maria Bartiromo when she interviewed Soros at a previous Davos get together, she could barely get a word out with all the noise overhead. The security used to protect the global elites was tighter than a Oprah pantsuit at that Davos gathering of crooks.

Well I was one of those who lost their jobs in Dec.
I survived a year of unemployment during the dot com crash when Seattle umemployment reached something like 10%.
I survived that. I’ll survive this.
And I don’t think anything is going to pick up in March-April.
And I don’t think the governments current plan of spending themselves out of this recession will work either. Its going to make it worse and prolong the damage, just like their idiotic attempts to prop up housing prices where values are double or triple what they should really be.
I believe 2009 is going to be a horrible year.

That increase won’t help things at all. What will the minimum wage be then?

Covered nonexempt workers are entitled to a minimum wage of not less than $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008; and $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009.

Among other things that will encourage employers to hire illegals who won’t whine about making less than minimum wage so as not to get caught.
