Holy Land Verdict Could be Boost for Obama's War on Terror
Dallas News ^ | 01/07/2009 | JASON TRAHAN

The Bush administration's ringing victory in last year's Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial could provide a tailwind for President Barack Obama's efforts to carry on the war on terror.

There's much in the Bush administration's counterterrorism toolbox that the new president wants to throw out – Guantánamo Bay, secret foreign prisons, torture and warrantless wiretapping.

But one weapon now proven effective by the Holy Land trial is the use of intelligence on complicated terrorist networks to pursue criminal cases.

This was a single case that was won. Dear Leaders group could get cases thrown out on the basis of “racism”.

The fraud is NOT the president, nor does he have an administration -- only the transition team.

I love how this guy is praising the Bush efforts at cutting off funding....except for the fact that it was the NYT that revealed many counter-teorrorist programs including the very successful monitoring of US-Foreign accounts that many Democrats proclaimed shock in but then backed off when it was clear that they were fully aware. I have no doubt that this writer was among those that complained about the program when the NYT violated US law to leak it.

As to Guantanamo - nobody wants them...period. So it looks like they will be shipped off to somewhere else. As to tough conditions - well any valuable info to be obtained from them is long gone so we obviously are not holding them for the fun of it.

Secret prisons will simply become...known prisons.

In the end this article is just making a push for a "civil" war that supports trying terrorists in US courts. It is the beginning of the left now praising certain aspects of Bush anti-terrorism policies and pretending that they never screamed bloody murder since 9/11.

As if O intends to have a war on terror or terrorists.

Like General Powell, he considers those pukes his ‘brothers’.
