New Study of Racist Akaka Bill
Capital Research Center ^ | January 6, 2009 | Matthew Vadum

The racist "Akaka Bill," which is certain to resurface in the 111th Congress that convened today, would inflict serious harm on the economy of Hawaii if enacted, according to a new report from the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii and the Beacon Hill Institute.

The measure would grant special race-based privileges to "Native Hawaiians" (who have only one drop of Hawaiian blood flowing in their veins) by exempting members of that group from paying state income and excise taxes. It would also create a new "tribal" government in the state that could help lay the groundwork for Hawaii's secession from the United States.

We examined the bill and related issues in the May 2008 Foundation Watch. The article, "Racial Separatism in the Aloha State: The Bishop Estate Trust and Hawaii's Kamehameha Schools," is by Phil Brand, James Dellinger, and Karl Crow.

If Hawaii goes, can they take Barry with them? The gain might be worth the loss.

Hawaii's secession would be fine with me. It means two fewer 'rats in the US Senate. Maybe they could take a few more 'rat dominated states with them.

Hawaii is many things, but first and foremost it is a strategic military asset. It will NEVER gain independence from the U.S. for that very fact alone.

I think you are giving our Elites too much credit. Remember, these are people who think its just dandy if we unilaterally give up our nuclear weapons. There is a tremendous amount of guilt out there combined with a lack of will and common sense. Honestly, I would not be surprised if 100 years from now the US is a shadow of its former self, politically, economically and territorially.

No, no, no......this could be a good thing. If you are a native of your state, ask for the same thing. In fact, demand it. Maybe then, everyone will move back to their native states and screw everything up. Wouldn’t that piss off some governors?

Posturing pure and simple. I'll bet the real reason is to have "tribal" casinos all over the island. Follow the money.

Wait till you see this happen in the Southwest. Everybody laughed at that KGB guy who said the US will fall apart by 2012, but stuff like this could be the start.

This is total nonsense. The native Hawaiians are to only native Americans that aren’t allowed to have their own nation.
The bill would give similar standing to native Hawaiians as the American Indians now have. Native, by the way, means at least 25%. The Hawaiians would still be taxed, but more in keeping with the native culture.

One of the sticking points is a private school that was founded and endowed by native Hawaiians specifically to teach native children. They have been ordered by a Fed court to stop giving preference to natives. The bill would allow this school to give native oriented education to native children as the founders intended. Now maybe you think that the fed government has some business telling private schools who they can admit. I don’t.

Don't forget The One has to come up with tho kazillion dollars that his STIMULUS package will cost. There ain't enough filthy rich republicans to fund it. So we might want to sell His home to the Chicoms to raise funds. Also, since according to the breakup prediction, our Western States will become a province of China, maybe he will mortgage them and with no bail out, they foreclose. (What cares the One for the Military, since the world will love us. and his military will be the half million Brown Shirts he will create as part of the his 3M new jobs?). These Gumment Law Officers will take care of the REAL enemies, those who oppose his reign.
