I have a few teacher friends who come up to my moose camp from matsu. Good guys, I don't argue politics with them, friends. We do agree on Sarah Palin, they had her in high school years back and know her dad. It's supposed to hit minus 65 by morn, minus 54 now. Worked up the slope years ago; Colder here on the upper Yukon. Got a few mini-14's, 10-22's, but not big ruger guy. Picked up a S&W custom shop 460, 10 inch. Believe it or not quite accurate for distance. Around 1990, bought 5 rushkie SKS's for 75 bucks each; prices have went up. All the kids at our school do the gun safety course, expected in rural areas. We have a 4th shooting contest in our community. 12 inch target 400 yards away on island in middle of yukon. Also caribou migrate thru, get a bunch, subsistence hunt.
SKS and AK'S are non-existent in our area . Almost impossible to find one . If you do they are running $1000.00 -1500.00. A lot of these are refurbished .I remember five years ago they were going for around $300.00. Looks like the next choice is the sporterized Saiga in 7.62 if you can find one Really nice revolver is the Ruger SP 100 in .357 mag.(.38 special ) Accurate as hell and built like a brick s-house . Picked up Bushmaster A-3 .223 two years ago before the panic hit and always buy various calibers of ammo whenever I see it on sale . Next in my sights is the CZ75 SP01 Phantom if I can find one . Maybe we'll get another stimulus check to buy more weapons . I see Barrow had a sunrise of 11:59 am and a sunset of 12:01 pm yesterday. A whole two minutes of sunshine . I have a hard time comprehending that . .
