Exactly. What is it with atheists (and vegetarians) where they feel compelled to let everyone know that they're an atheist? (Or vegetarian.)
I have yet to meet an atheist or vegetarian who isn't all "Look at meeeeee" about it.
Well some folks are proud to be wrong I guess...
I really don't care what people choose to eat or not to eat. But, you're right. It seems like vegetarians just pine for the moment the waiter asks them what they want so they can say, “What do you have that is vegetarian.” It's like they're just dying to have the conversation evolve around them.
And have you ever noticed how many vegetarians have the same intro. “I started it for health reasons. But then, after a while, I kind of had trouble with the morality of killing animals.” This, of course, is a passive-aggressive way of insulting anyone who eats meat.
So, here's what you do. If you don't particularly care about the vegan-moaralist trying to shove their morality down your throat (which is exactly what they're doing), the next time they do so at a restaurant, wait for a pause in the conversation and ask:
“So is it true that your shi* sinks in the toilet bowl rather than float because it doesn't have animal fat in it?”
