It still use my old Hogan woods from the early '80s. Yes, actual wooden woods. Old Hogan irons as well -- tour blades.
The feel/sound of driving the ball right on the sweet spot of an old wood is not something that can be duplicated with any of the new high-tech drivers.

Ear specialists suspect the "sonic boom" the metal club head makes when it strikes the ball damaged the hearing of a 55-year-old golfer they treated.I don't care if you are Tiger Woods, you ain't going to get that golf club head moving anywhere near Mach 1. Stupid scientifically illiterate British journalist.

Euro-wussies. Next to my church and my house, the golf course is the most serene place I regularly visit, and I love the sound made when my Cleveland Launcher Comp 460cc head strikes the dimpled white orb. It’s like music to the ears, even if it isn’t always a pretty thing to watch in flight.

It still use my old Hogan woods from the early '80s. Yes, actual wooden woods. Old Hogan irons as well -- tour blades. Until a few years ago, I was using the Spaulding Executives with tour blades and D1 stiffness. You really had to hit the sweet spot in order to drive the ball but when it was hit correctly, the ball would really respond to the strike.
Switched to R-6 irons and R-7 drivers. No change in handicap.
