On the Jewish blog, they say the cabbie mistook her for a Muslim. She is a very dark-skinned Sephardic Jew. He had no idea she was Jewish.
She took down his medallion number and reported everything to the NYPD and the FBI.
Children in Hebrew schools all over NYC were visited today by NYPD “Officer Friendlies” to discuss the matter. They told the kids the rules about being extra vigilant; reporting unattended packages or backpacks outside the school; strangers loitering, etc.
NYPD seems to be taking it seriously.
Rabbis are calling for extra prayers.
Okay, then why make the distinction if the fact isn’t relevant or is coincidental? If they woman was a black Baptist or a white Catholic, is that supposed to connote something else?
