Wow. Today is just one big, bad joke. Al Franken. Roland Burris. Bill Richardson. Now this: Leon Panetta will head Obamas CIA. Another day, another clueless Clinton crony named to a top job for which he has no experience. The unqualified fish rots from the head down, after all. Via NYT. Damned scary:
Mr. Panetta has a reputation in Washington as a competent manager with strong background in budget issues, but has little hands-on intelligence experience. If confirmed by the Senate, he will take control of the agency most directly responsible for hunting senior Al Qaeda leaders around the globe, but one that has been buffeted since the Sept. 11 attacks by leadership changes and morale problems. Given his background, Mr. Panetta is a somewhat unusual choice to lead the C.I.A., an agency that has been unwelcoming to previous directors perceived as outsiders, such as Stansfield M. Turner and John M. Deutch. But his selection points up the difficulty Mr. Obama had in finding a C.I.A. director with no connection to controversial counterterrorism programs of the Bush era. *** More from Allahpundit.President-elect Barack Obama has selected Leon E. Panetta, the former congressman and White House chief of staff, to take over the Central Intelligence Agency, an organization that Mr. Obama criticized during the campaign for using interrogation methods he decried as torture, Democratic officials said Monday.
Hey, maybe theyll bring back Janet Reno for Commerce Secretary!
Let’s hear it for Hopey Changiness!!
Change!!
I just can’t figure out how any of this is change (except of course Al Franken’s diaper may qualify).
REEEEEEEEEEEEEENO! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENO!
Folks, its gonna be a fun 4 years! (or less)
No, no. Blago for Commerce Secretary. He knows how to deal, and there won't be any ethics surprises - it's all out in the open already.
BLAGO FOR COMMERCE!
We are rapidly turning into a Banana Republic.
So we’re going to put a guy who couldn’t tell you his boss was lying in charge of finding out if other countries are lying about WMDs? Good work O man.
With all these has-been political hacks and White House officials being nominated for cabinet posts, no one is exactly expressing confidence in the upcoming administration.
It’s the Hopey Changey Show!
What a gyp! I thought he was going to give that job to me!
Leon Panetta - oh, dear! We are witnessing a very bad movie, “The Return of the Clintons!” Apparently, they weren’t able to fully sell out our country during Bill’s administration, so they’re back now to finish the job. And a majority of our fellow citizens, with neither judgment nor memory, merely smile and nod affirmatively.
With Al Franken in the Senate, we will be a Second Banana Republic.
We are rapidly turning into a Banana Republic.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The biggest difference now is just that we don’t actually grow very many bananas in this country. Maybe we’ll start something new, the Watermelon Republic.
Un beeee leeevable!!!
OMG, what the heck is the ZERO thinking????
We the People are so screwed...
Leon Panchetta...not just another slice o’ ham...
From Yahoo News:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090106/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_spy_agencies_9
Obama is sending an unequivocal message that controversial administration policies approving harsh interrogations, waterboarding and extraordinary renditions the secret transfer of prisoners to other governments with a history of torture and warrantless wiretapping are over, said several officials.
THE Buffoon Zero is going to get us killed...putting a KNOW nothing in charge of the CIA???
Yeah. Where’s the enthusiasm now that the big O’s rhetoric gives way to reality?
bttt
Naa ... next up Jamie Gorlick.
