I have heard that His Excellency is 33d in a “Prince Hall” Lodge, whatever that means.

Is that “Regular”? I don’t think we have them here.

That's one in which you Party Like It's 1999.

A “Prince Hall” lodge is primarily for blacks. The operative word is ‘primarily’, somewhat like a black college.

Price Hall is a black lodge. It is considered a regular lodge. Nate King Cole was one as well. Look up famous Masons and you will see several black members.

A Prince Hall Lodge generally refers to a Lodge consisting exclusively of African Americans and are usually not recognized as true masonic lodges by the respective Masonic jurisdictions or the Grand Lodges of the states. They are recognized only by the Prince Hall Lodges.

I suspect this means he is Scottish Rite. To my knowledge there are only three degrees in Blue Lodge Masonry, of which Prince Hall is an exemplar.

They are regular in Texas, or at least one may have Masonic communication with them.

Not sure if AF&FM and Prince Hall can sit in each other’s meetings.

Prince Hall is a historic, African American Masonic affiliate body. They where founded in the 1700s to support abolitionist groups. Prince Hall has a very interesting history.

Most of the Grand Lodges in the states of the old Confederacy do not recognize Prince Hall masons. Most of the other GLs do.

North Carolina just recognized Prince hall masonry within the past year. Kentucky and West Virginia do not.
