ABOARD A U.S. AIR FORCE JET (Reuters) - Barack Obama is not afraid to admit it -- he got a little emotional before leaving Chicago for Washington where he will soon become the next president of the United States.
"I've got to say that I choked up a little bit leaving my house today," said Obama, who will become the nation's first black president when he takes office on January 20.

Probably was a pretty big hit.

He has been a US senator for almost three years and lives in DC most of the time. He will still keep his house in Chicago. What’s the big deal?

...filthy machine politics...As pointed out in #3, he's taking that with him.

0be was never in DC before? He commuted from Crook county regularly?
Is it really his house? I thought it was in somebody else's name.
Maybe he is sad to have to go live in a fishbowl where it is more difficult to do "deals" away from scrutiny. Maybe the Teflon stays in Chicago?

Rahm’s probably getting choked too.
To: TornadoAlley3
At least the “O” and I now have one thing in common. The thought of him going to DC makes me want to cry too.

Asked if he was excited about the move, Obama alluded to the grueling presidential campaign when he said: "Yeah, although living in a hotel for two weeks -- we kind of did that for two years." Boo Hoo. Stay put until Inauguration Day.
